EB Automatic Status Changes with New School Year
At summer rollover, for any students with a locked EB plan in the application, the "Next Year EB/EL Status" becomes their "Current EB/EL Status."
This example is from a meeting held last year prior to summer rollover:
Run the Bilingual/ESL Record Report
- Navigate to the report by clicking Reports in the top navigation bar, then Programs - Bilingual/ESL, then Bilingual/ESL Record.
- Lists students, last meeting date, EB status, primary language, program type, parental permission code, and immigrant code.
- Fields are populated on lock of the emergent bilingual (EB) plan or by manual entry.
- We recommended these report parameters in addition to choosing a District and Campus:
- Bilingual/ESL - Active
- Bilingual/ESL – Denial
- Grade – Select as needed
- Student – All
- EB Status – All
- Meeting Type – All
Check Current EB/EL Status and Parental Permission Codes
- Only a "Parental Permission Code" of "G" is acceptable in our application with an "EB Status" of "Monitor Year." If this permission code is not applicable for your student, then you must remove the "Parental Permission Code" altogether.
- Please consult with your Education Service Center if you have questions about "Parental Permission Code" selections.
